Daniel Forsythe (1958 - 2013)

Daniel (Danny) Terence Niall Forsythe, age 54 of Marblehead, husband of Katharine Mary (Dain) Forsythe, with whom he has shared 25 wonderful years, died at home, Monday May 20th, 2013 surrounded with the love of his family.

Danny was born in 1958 in Belfast to Harry and Elizabeth Forsythe. He had a special fondness for his grandmother, Annie Adalaide Helen Forsythe, who instilled in him the values he carried with him for the rest of his life. He attended Portadown College and graduated from the Queen's University of Belfast.

Having qualified as a Chartered Accountant his career took him from Northern Ireland to Bermuda and on to Boston. He met his wife, Kathy, in Bermuda and they shared 25 wonderful years together. They settled in Marblehead in 2001 which is where they chose to raise their family. A constant feature throughout Danny's life was his love of rugby, both as a player and a keen supporter of his national team Ireland.

Danny is survived by his wife Kathy, and their two children Harry and Nathalie. His surviving relatives in the United Kingdom include his mother Elizabeth, his brother Paul and his two sisters Avril and Lucille, along with his much loved nephews and nieces, Jenny, Isobel, Sam, Katie M, Katie B, Jack, Hattie, Ben, Rebecca and Joe.

His funeral was held on Friday, May 24th, 2013 in the Old North Church, Washington St, Marblehead. Relatives and friends were invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

Company Tribute

It is with much regret that we announce the passing of Daniel ‘Danny’ Forsythe aged 54 of Marblehead Massachusetts, loving husband of Kathy (Dain) Forsythe and devoted father to Harry and Nathalie.

Danny and Kathy met in Bermuda in 1988 where he lived and worked at Argus Insurance for 13 years before moving to Boston in 2001 to pursue a successful career with Liberty Mutual. Danny and Kathy set up a wonderful family life in Marblehead.

In Bermuda, Danny was a hugely popular and well respected stalwart of the local rugby community. He played for,and captained both Renegades and Bermuda’s National Team. Danny’s appetite for life was infectious and his strength of character admired by everyone who knew him. All whose lives have been enlightened by him, will sorely miss him and deeply cherish his memory.

His funeral was held Friday May 24, 2013 in Marblehead, MA followed by a memorial service in Bermuda. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
